About the Project

While driving through Texas, my sister stopped at a gift shop and found a taxidermied armadillo dressed as a sheriff. She bought it as a Christmas gift for our dad, who proudly displays the sheriff in his living room. What’s not to love? From the googly eyes to the six shooters (and real bullets on the back of the holster!), this armadillo is a treasured collectible! Whenever our family is admiring this curiosity, we proudly exclaim, “There’s a new sheriff in town!”

Recently, my dad said, “You know what would look good on a t-shirt? The sheriff!” And that’s how this illustration came to be.

I started off with several hand drawn sketches, then I cleaned it up and vectorized the sketch in Illustrator.
